2011 CHEVROLET MALIBU REVIEW




The Chevrolet Malibu was recently redesigned for the present generation and is responsible for the task of taking on the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord sedan segment in the highly competitive mid-size.

GM says the Malibu's design was inspired by more expensive European models - with a thick C-pillar and high waistline - and suggests that the future style of Chevrolet products.

The interior of the Malibu has styling cues from the classic Corvette of the past and has a unique double-deck design of the board. Malibu's overall fit and finish is arguably the best ever to roll off a production line of Chevrolet.

The Malibu is available in four trim levels: LS, 1LT, 2LT and LTZ. Basic model cars are powered by a 169 2.4 liter power VVT four-cylinder engine - mated to a six-speed automatic transmission - with the level of finish 2LTZ have a provision 3. 6-liter V6 - rated at 252 horsepower - mated to a six-speed automatic with steering wheel paddle shifters.

The 3.6-liter engine is optional on 2LT and LTZ models. No matter the trim level, the Malibu offers an impressive list of standard features, such as 17-inch wheels, OnStar, XM Radio and an acoustic laminated windshield. Safety features include traction control, a system for monitoring tire pressure, StabiliTrak, four-wheel ABS and curtain side-impact air bags for both rows of seats.
